Collagen biostimulators

Disclaimer: these photos are published for informational purposes only, to provide information about the nature of the procedure. They in no way constitute a guarantee of results.

The 2 collagen biostimulators available in Canada are PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) and le CaHA (hydroxyapatite de calcium).

These are injectable treatments designed to stimulate the body's natural collagen-production mechanisms. Unlike traditional filler agents that primarily add volume, biostimulators aim to gradually improve the quality of the skin and tissue support over time.

Une consultation médicale est requise afin d’évaluer votre admissibilité au traitement, ainsi que ses bénéfices, limites et risques potentiels.

How does it work

Lorsqu’il est injecté dans la peau, le PLLA contenu dans le produit déclenche un processus naturel de production de collagène. Au fil du temps, cela conduit à une restauration du volume facial, une texture de peau plus lisse et une apparence plus jeune.

Ideal candidates

The collagen biostimulator is ideal for people with:

  • Volume loss in the cheeks, temples, and jawline
  • Skin laxity or sagging
  •  Desire for a subtle and long-lasting revitalization without surgery

Frequently asked questions about collagen biostimulators

Unlike a hyaluronic-acid filler that immediately fills a volume, the collagen biostimulator works deep down: its poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles trigger collagen production by your own skin. The result is not immediate but develops over several months, with an overall improvement in the firmness and volume of the face.

The standard protocol consists of 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Depending on the volume loss and the areas treated, additional sessions may be recommended. During the initial consultation at our Laval clinic, our team draws up a personalised plan and treatment schedule.

Collagen biostimulators are among the longest-lasting on the market: results can persist up to 2 to 3 years after the end of the protocol. Because the collagen produced comes from your own skin, the result remains extremely natural.

Collagen biostimulators are contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in cases of active skin infection, uncontrolled autoimmune diseases or allergy to one of their components. A prior medical examination is systematically performed at our Laval clinic.

After each session, gently massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days (the 5x5x5 rule) to evenly distribute the product and prevent any nodules. Avoid intense physical effort, saunas and prolonged sun exposure during the 48 hours following the session.
