Unlike a hyaluronic-acid filler that immediately fills in volume, Sculptra acts as a biostimulator: its poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles trigger collagen production by your own skin. The result is not immediate but builds up over several months, with an overall improvement in the firmness and volume of the face.
The standard protocol consists of 2 to 3 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Depending on the volume loss and the areas treated, additional sessions may be recommended. During the initial consultation at our Laval clinic, our team draws up a personalised plan and treatment schedule.
Sculptra is one of the longest-lasting biostimulators on the market: results can last up to 2 to 3 years after the end of the protocol. Because the collagen produced comes from your own skin, the look remains extremely natural.
Sculptra is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in case of active skin infection, uncontrolled autoimmune diseases or allergy to any of its components. A prior medical examination is systematically performed at our Laval clinic.
After each session, gently massage the treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days (the 5x5x5 rule) to evenly distribute the product and prevent any nodules. Avoid intense physical effort, saunas and prolonged sun exposure during the 48 hours following the session.
